Welcome to my homepage!
I am an Assistant Professor for Numerical Methods at TU Dortmund University, Germany.
My research focuses on the conceptualization, development, implementation, and analysis of advanced numerical methods for the discretization of partial differential equations. In particular, I design computational schemes for convection-dominated problems.
I am especially interested in applications arising in geophysical fluid dynamics, such as shallow water models. My group works with modern discretization techniques, including high-resolution schemes and approaches incorporating artificial intelligence.
A key aspect of our work is computational efficiency. To address this, we employ hardware-oriented design principles, for example matrix-free methods, in the development of our algorithms.
